Finally got a job, even though it doesn’t go towards my second year visa. It’s at a bar called Freo.Social (Click on it and it’ll take you to their website.) It’s such a cool venue, they have different events every day. The management & my coworkers are like a big family so that makes it so easy. It’s cashless which is also amazing & they also close at midnight!!! Much more relaxed than Gilligan’s. So many hot Aussie men come in & to be honest I can’t understand a THING they say. It’s always interesting interactions to say the least. I was off work for nearly 6 months so my money is coming to the end. I am very surprised that it lasted so long!!
The thing they don’t tell you about solo traveling is that it does get very lonely at times. Y’all know I am all about being solo but sometimes it’s nice to have your best friend, sister, or anyone that you’re super close with near. I wouldn’t change it for the world though. It is such an amazing experience. If you have the opportunity to travel, to move out of your hometown, go on dates, see what YOU want to see, just do it. Do it alone!! Don’t wait on someone to do something that makes YOU happy. I know that I have mentioned this before but I can’t say it enough. I remember whenever I first started taking myself out to lunch my sister would FaceTime me & always say “I can’t believe you’re doing this alone right now I could never.” The thing is anyone can do it. You may feel weird at first but I promise it’s such a freeing feeling. Bring a book, a journal, your Bible, FaceTime people, or just enjoy in your own company. You will find yourself. You will find what you like or what you don’t like. You have to be okay with getting weird looks from people but I promise it’s only because they are wishing they’d have the strength to do things solo as well. If I waited on someone to do things with I would’ve never ended up here. Solo travel isn’t for everyone but I still feel like you should try it at least once. Even if it’s 3 hours out of your hometown.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a girl or boy!! I have met so many people by living in hostels, meeting randomly in person, on social media, you just have to be okay with putting yourself out there. I do post about how hostel living is rough, because it is. I want my own space again but being in a hostel allows you to meet so many new people. Hear different stories on why they are here, where they are from, what their stories are. So many different walks of life it’s just unreal.

The greatest thing about solo travel is:
The personal growth.
You do get in your own head a lot more than normal. It’s definitely not easy but it’s worth it. It makes you get out of your comfort zone!! Comfort zones will kill ya slowly. Yes it’s scary doing things alone but I promise it’s even scarier NOT doing it. Each time you do something solo you will become a little more confident. You’ll thank yourself one day.
Xo
