Hush

I have become a local (well to me, they still don’t know who I am. Maybe in a few weeks they will haha) at this cafe called Hush, right by my hostel. They have cold brew so I am a happy gal. I can’t wait to get my own place for a lot of reasons but one of them would be to make my own cold brew. I have really got to stop spending money on coffee & other things until I get a job. I don’t know why my brain thinks I have to get a coffee every time I leave the house. I guess it’s because I am so used spending my money on whatever I want. So it’s just weird now not having my savings that I had & the income I had. Wouldn’t change it though, I am happy here.

So, I went to Rottnest Island!! It was STUNNING. I handed out 6 CV’s (Resumes) & every single one of them said they aren’t hiring but will keep it on file. They aren’t hiring til July or August & some even said October. I could wait around until August but can’t wait til October to get my 88 days done. The little quokkas remind me of a giant rat & a squirrel combined. It’s super cute though. Also saw a snake which was a little terrifying knowing that it was one of the deadliest snakes in the world. I will tell you now, don’t go to Rottnest and bike around the day after leg day. Going up hill was just not it. Maybe I am just blaming it on leg day, maybe I am just a whiny brat. It was not fun what so ever. The views made it worth it! I went with my friend Martin.. I am sure he will never go with me again with how much I kept stopping on the bike HA.

For now I’ll just search for a casual job to start saving up. There is this local country bar that reminds me of Nashville. It opens up at 6pm so I am going to go in & pray for the best. Someone said I should put on my boots & hat, walk in, hand my CV to the manager & say I start tomorrow. Haha if only it were that easy. I am also going to walk around here and hand out my CV anywhere I can. Which everyone else is doing the same thing. There is so much competition here it’s actually kind of scary.

My hostel isn’t really THAT bad. I’ve definitely stayed in cleaner/better. Just happy that I found a long term hostel though. Right now I have it booked until May 20th & I can pay weekly so therefore I can cancel at anytime. Praying I don’t have to stay there that long but we will see. It won’t be the end of the world! I am just happy have a roof over my head. My new roomie Nicole is so funny. I truly wish you guys could meet her. She reminds me a lot of myself, just a funnier, younger version & from UK.

Happy,
Truly happy.
I still can’t believe I did this thang. Moved to Australia all by myself. Alone. It’s been a wild ride & I can’t wait to see what the next few months have in store for me. Again y’all, I am sorry if I repeat myself in my blogs. I just really don’t have the patience to go back through and re read everything.

I love finding new music, that was always my thing back home. So finding new music here has been just as exciting. Figured I’d share a few artist, I wouldn’t say they were country. It’s like chill vibezzzzz – you let me know what y’all think. Ziggy Alberts & Jack Botts. It’s a little hard finding new music from back home just because I am not really plugged in like I used to be. I’ve also found that some songs aren’t here yet or vice versa. It’s so crazy how behind Australia is with certain things.

  1. Maybe get a casual job as a barista and at least get a discount on the coffee you need each time you step outside?? Haha

    1. I’ve thought about this but they take their coffee very seriously here. So they want people with experience.
