Finally we are in the same day. The time difference has been wild to try & keep up with over the past few months. Perth doesn’t do time change like America does. I think maybe certain parts of Australia does but not Perth. So right now it is almost 4pm here which makes it about 4 am in Indy (3 am in Nash) so it makes it easier now to keep track of the time difference.
Can y’all believe that I have already been in Australia for nearly 100 days now. That is so crazy to me. Not working for about 5 months (WILD! except for that week in Cairn’s.. HA) has been nice but I am ready to get back to making MONEYYYY. I am blessed that I saved up so much while bartending that way I can enjoy not working. I need to stop stressing so much (yes I know Aunt Kristie you’ve told me this many times let me be ok.) I am going to go hand out my CV aka resume on Monday. Wish me luck! This is just for a casual job just to make money while I am here in Perth. I found a place to live & I move in Wednesday! I can’t wait to show you all my new place for a few months. Here they do it weekly instead of monthly, which is different but I kind of like it. Instead of you taking out a huge chunk of money out at once, you do it weekly. I’ll be living with a guy named Mitch, which I know most of you are thinking…. excuse me ma’am? A random guy? Yes. I went & met him in person with Lyndsay (before she left me to go home..big sad) and we both got positive vibes from him. I need to get out of the mindset that everyone is a bad person (but also be smart about it!!)

I am THRIVING for these night markets around town. That was a bbq brisket Mac & cheese and it was as good as it looks. If ya click on the picture it’ll take you to the food truck’s website where I got the Mac from! The background is Perth city skyline. It’s taking everything in me not to buy a car off Facebook market place y’all. I know I mentioned that public transportation is easy but it would be so much easier having my own car. I do think after my 88 days is complete id probably go ahead and buy a car then just sell it if I needed to. My friend Martin bought a car and I am so jealous. If I knew how to drive manual id steal it. If I end up finding a car eventually he is going to go with me to look at it!
Alright – 88 day information:
I am currently on the first year working holiday visa. With the WHV in order to stay for another year in Australia you have to work for 88 days (3 months) in that first year. I can do hospitality work but it has to be in certain post codes. The only place around Perth that I could work for “hospitality” would be Rottnest Island which is a little island off of Perth. They aren’t always hiring & it’s a super small island. So PRAY that I get to end up working on that island that way I can stay near Perth. If not I do have to go up North OR do farm work. Yes, you read that correctly. Farm work. Fruit picking is what I’d probably do. I do genuinely think it would be a very humbling experience & WAY different than what I am used to doing. Plus I feel like I’d save so much money because I would be in the middle of nowhere. If you do farm work you can do it pretty much anywhere they need. Some could be 2 hours from Perth or some in the middle of the outback or back near the east coast. This is simply the best way I can explain it. If you click on the picture of my sisters cat below it’ll take you to an article which explains it a little better. Next year I have to do 6 months to get a 3rd year visa. You can only do it up for 3 years. With that being said I am going to need y’all to pray that I find an Aussie man or get sponsorship somehow so I can stay forever.

Oh – some places give you accommodation while working for your 88 days, so I am also praying something like that works for me. It would just be so helpful!! There are other little islands where I’d love to do my 88 days but they’re not hiring at the moment either. It’s slow season for most so I am just going to take these next few months to explore Perth & save up (hopefully) then worry about my 88 days 🙂 I just have to get it done realistically before my first year visa ends or ill have to come back to the states!
Thats about it for this post. Hope you all have a wonderful St. Patricks day weekend!!
