Kelsey's travel diary

Christmas Eve, my two roomies and I all had a cheese board night along with spiked hot chocolate. It was salted caramel, and it was delicious. We all went to bed early because Santa was coming.

Christmas morning I did half of the coastal walk and back! Then I hung out on bondi beach for a little. Our hostel was having a champagne breakfast so I went and got a few bottles. It was free so why not stock up for NYE right? I didn’t drink much on Christmas Day honestly. I just wasn’t feeling it! My roomies and I walked to Bronte beach which I am pretty sure everyone and their mothers were on this beach. It was insane. It was like the Indy 500 / cma fest but in a much smaller area & VERY hot. I don’t really want to be body to body with strangers on a hot summers day. Bex & I went and found a spot on the beach for a few hours. Shortly after that we decided to walk back to our hostel & we got a nice smoothie from boost. Which was beyond perfect on a hot day! We took advantage of the hostel being empty so we cooked & did laundry. There is nothing better than an empty kitchen at the hostel!! It started to rain so everyone came back and we just went back to our cave. I watched a movie and then went to sleep.

I will say I do miss being home for Christmas. Or just a house rather than hostel. It was much different which is fine, change is good. But I would much rather have been at a house or an apartment having a wholesome chill day! Don’t get me wrong I am NOT complaining about having a beach Christmas. It was just insanely packed. I am honestly not sure if I have just become a Scrooge or what. Next year my roomies and I all plan to have a wholesome Christmas at one of our places!
