I know I know, before y’all come at me about it being so long since I last wrote a blog, I am sorry. I really have no excuse other than the fact that I have just been exploring around. Let’s start with what I’ve been up to for the past 3 weeks.
I ended up telling Rose from Gilligan’s that I wasn’t happy & I wanted to go to Perth. She was a little disappointed but she said I was welcome to come back at anytime. When someone quits they get thrown into the pool, I thought I was getting away scotch free because they let me go early.. nope I look up and I am surrounded by security. If you didn’t see the video of me getting thrown in I’ll send it to ya. It was pretty funny! I was a little sad whenever I quit because I really did love the entire staff.
PERTH
I love it here. SO MUCH YALL! This really feels like home. I wouldn’t necessarily say Perth city, because let’s face it you guys know I am not a city gal. I do think I could live in the city for a little while though but I know after a while I’d miss having a little bit of land. The first night we got in was a late one so I just got to my hostel & slept. Daisy, Cal, Martin and I all got separated after we got to Perth. My new roomie Lara & I went exploring around Perth city Friday morning, then took ourselves to the beach in the Arvo (What Aussies call afternoon.) The beaches here are stunning. I can’t wait to get out and explore even more of Western Australia. After the beach I met Daisy, cal & Martin at a pub for dinner and drinks. Ollie who we met while on the east coast tour lives in Perth so he met us out and showed us Perth’s night life.

My girl Lyndsay who I also met on tour came to Perth Saturday night. She was my girl since day 1. Ollie’s uncle had us all over Sunday night for dinner. Let me tell you that night was such a wholesome night. Even though they weren’t my family they made us feel like we were. His aunt & uncle has 3 sweet girls. So y’all know my heart felt full. Plus his uncle is a chef & cooks amazing food. Little do they know they’ve adopted us for life. You know those deep chats you have sometimes? The good for the soul ones? The ones you don’t expect sometimes? Me, Lyndsay & Ollie stayed up til 3 am just chatting about life. That was a night I’ll remember forever honestly.
Lyndsay & I rented a car on Uber carshare for a few days. I don’t remember that being a thing back home but it’s pretty cool. They just rent you their car for a few days for a certain amount. It ended up being cheaper than going to a rental place. We drove around to different suburbs so I could see which area I liked most. I am getting used to driving on the left side of the road. Well, except for when I almost killed us driving on the backroads on the wrong (right side for us back in the states) side of the road. Luckily is was a backroad not a busy road. Driving is just a natural instinct at this point so it is weird to change it after all these years. I have to remind myself “turn right but STAY left” or when I am going on a roundabout to stay left as well. It’s so weird!! Oh and parallel parking being on the opposite side of the car is WILD. It’s a no for me dawg. We went to an outdoor movie cinema & it was so cool. I know they have them in Nashville & I have been a few times to that but for some reason this just felt better. Maybe because I am in Australia? We saw Anyone but you (my second time seeing it just because it’s sooooo good!!) – which was cool because I have been to so many of the places they show in that movie.

Thursday I went to look at a place for 3 weeks that someone was just renting while she was away. I couldn’t get out of that house quick enough. No AC for starters. Then I asked the girl who all lives in this house and she said she had no idea. They rotate out so much & always have random people over so she had to sit there and think how many people actually live there. So again, back to square one. We left the house & then met the crew at the night markets. Just a bunch of tents with different vendors & a lot of food trucks with people playing live music & then a DJ. Highly would recommend going if you ever find yourself in WA. I’ll attach their website to the beautiful sunset picture below.

I have been in Hostel G since I got here & I am hoping to get out soon. It’s not a bad hostel what so ever I have actually enjoyed it a lot. The ONLY negative thing I will say about it is there is no actual kitchen, it’s a kitchenette. So I have been meal prepping out of an air fryer & microwave. The renting crisis is no joke here, I know it’s the same everywhere else but it feels harder here. I am just stuck again with what to do next. I came over thinking I’ll stay for a few months & then go do my 88 days. With me not being able to find a place for 3 months I think I just need to go do my 88 days asap. You guys know how my brain works, it’s a mess up there sometimes. Staying in hostels are NOT cheap anymore. Airbnb’s are outrageous so I do need to figure it out.
- Do I stay & just hope to find accommodation for a few months and work casual then do my 88 days
- Stay in Perth for another few weeks, keep applying towards 88 day jobs & then go up north where I can work. (Ideally find a place with accommodation)
- Go back to east coast & try and find a job for my 88 days.
The thing is after my 88 days I am coming back to Perth and hopefully finding long term accommodation. I just wish I didn’t have to do the 88 days but it is what it is. I will figure it out. Just keep going to keep Praying & *trying* to be positive about it all. It will all work out 🙂

Also – Lyndsay leaves me to go back to Canada on Tuesday. Ask me if I have already cried thinking about saying bye to her… because the answer is yes. We have basically been with each other apart from a few days since January 15th. Thats a long time. Tell her to stay!!
I think this is about it for now. Any questions leave below. I like when y’all ask questions!! I am going to go to the gym now.
