One way flight booked to:

Perth, WA.

I am running on 4 hours of sleep because my new job has my sleep schedule back to crap already. “Job” is a very light term because I worked for two days & quit. I just emailed the manager at Gilligan’s and told her I am done. I am supposed to be working the rest of the week, so we will see if she still wants me to. I told her I would but then next week I am heading to Perth. I was going to tell her in person but my anxiety got the best of me. Also apparently since I am a “casual” backpacker you don’t even need to tell them you’re leaving. You can just not show up but thats just not my style. Maybe it would’ve been easier to do that if my friend wouldn’t have gotten me this job.

Let’s see how many jobs Kelsey can have in a matter of one year.

Today I finally got to FaceTime Erin. Which was sooo good for my soul. I needed that more than she’ll ever know. Then I met up with my friend Lyndsay for lunch and a few drinks because we hadn’t seen each other since the tour ended. We stumbled upon a bar called Howlin’ Jay’s. For sure my favorite little spot in Cairn’s so far because it reminded me of home. I ended up asking the bartender if the owner was from Nashville because there were a lot of signs about Nash & she said no he is from Australia. BORING. I should’ve left it a mystery. You can click the picture the says “Howlin” & it will take you to their menu. Some of the names are hilarious. I had 2 of the Howlin’ Colada’s & one Shit beer. (Their name for it not mine. Also the Colada’s were probably the best I’ve ever had)

I was going to save the west coast of Australia for next year but YOLO. My life motto since moving to Australia. Literally. The beauty of life is that you can do really whatever you want. It’s your life. You don’t owe anything to anyone. Well, at least thats how I look at life (other than when I am not having a mental breakdown.) I can’t do my 88 days in Perth so I still need to figure out that & I will eventually. For now I am going to explore the west coast for the unforeseeable future. For those who don’t know what WA looks like, buckle up because I can’t wait to show y’all. I can’t wait to see it for myself. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about it. I plan on getting a casual job just to save up money & have income because ya girl hasn’t had income since October 30th. Apart from a few days of working at Gilligan’s (which I should be getting paid tonight.. yay!) I did save up quite a bit so I am okay, for now.

My current roomies are all going to Perth as well. We have been looking at places & just not having any luck. Please send a little prayer for us that we do find a place together. If not then I just pray we all find a place individually. Today I will most likely just book a hotel or try to find a hostel for a few days while I figure it out. The accommodations are so expensive in Perth it’s insane. Even their hostels which are meant to be “cheap.” Maybe it’s just because i’ve waited until last minute, maybe it’s the rental crisis going on in Australia or maybe everything just seems so expensive because I don’t have a steady income HA.

A few months from now I’ll be looking back at this laughing because I was so stressed for no reason. Everything will work out… they said. I can’t wait for that to happen.

Trusting in HIM.

Oh, did I mention my flight to Perth was free as well? POINTS BABY! Gotta love it.

Xo

One of the girls from my tour is an insane artist. She just posted her journal that she’s been drawing in the whole trip. Look how cute!!! Had to do a little side by side.
